Body Composition Program

The Marine Corps weight and body fat standards are based on health and performance.   A Marine must meet the standards in reference to their body weight and body fat.  BCP weigh-ins are conducted semi-annually.  They are conducted in green-on-green T-shirt and shorts, socks, and running shoes.

Your weight is taken and then compared to the Marine Corps weight allowance chart.  If you meet the standard weight you have passed.  If you do not, then you will be measured for body-fat.  If you exceed the body-fat allowance you are then required to enter the “Weight Control Program”.  If you are over the weight standard, but meet the body fat standard then you have passed and no further action is taken.

The Body Fat Standards for the Marine Corp are 18 percent for males and 26 percent for females.
